Lessie Dee Martin Daigle, age 81, and a resident and native of Denham Springs, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002, at Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was a retired East Baton Rouge Parish school bus driver and a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Memory "Candy" Day and Dr. Alan M. Day and Laura "Lucky" Tarver and Larry Tarver; a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence L. "Larry" Daigle Jr. and Nancy C. Daigle; 10 grandchildren, Dirk P. Daigle, Damon M. Daigle, Carley Wilmot, Devin B. Daigle, Jeremy A. Day, John W. Day, Rebecca L. Daigle, Shannon T. Vantassel, Dawn Williams and Dana Barney; and five great-grandchildren, Dylan Daigle, Courtney Daigle, Corey Daigle, Colby Daigle and Cort Wilmot.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lionel Daigle Sr.; parents, Thomas R. and Luvenia Rushing Martin; three sisters, Ruth Harris, Mamie Spence and Ella Lovett; six brothers, Louis Martin, Sidney Martin, Allen Martin, Enos Martin, J.C. Martin and Melton Martin; and a special nephew, Donald Ray "Scratch" Martin.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation is at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation in the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Yancy Wilmot. Interment in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
