Sunday Rites --- Funeral services for JAMES RICHARD CALDWELL are to be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church, in Rodessa, Louisiana. The body is to lie in state at Rambo Funeral Home, in Marshall, Texas, from 4 p.m. Saturday until service time on Sunday. Burial is to be in Antioch Cemeter at Rodessa.
A native of Rodessa, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, he was a farmer. He was the son of Lafayette Caldwell and Mrs. Fannie Caldwell. He attended public schools in Texas in Marion County and Cass County. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He died Tuesday at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana, Texas.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Luvera Caldwell; three daughters, Mrs. Clearmont Reid, of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Gladys Godfrey, of Marshall, and Mrs. Ruth Caldwell, of Texarkana; three sons, Clinton P. Caldwell, of Texarkana, Newell W. Caldwell, of Marshall, and Eleazer M. Caldwell, of Longview; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Crocker and Mrs. Marie Harris, both of Rodessa, Louisiana, and Mrs. Blanch Eskridge, of Marshall; four brothers, Isaac Caldwell and Laurene Caldwell, both of Rodessa, Louisiana, Lafayette Caldwell Jr., of Marshall, and George Caldwell, of Mira, Louisiana; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
